House Blackout After Thunderstorm and Old Circuit Breaker Fails
December is a special month not just for Christmas and New Year, but also for family trips. Mr. Alan planned a year-end trip to Bangkok with his family. They visited markets, tried local food, saw the city lights, and bought souvenirs. Everyone had a great time and made many happy memories.
After returning home to their house in Puchong, they were looking forward to relaxing. But trouble started right at the gate. Alan pressed the remote to open the automatic gate, but it didn’t move. He tried several times, still nothing. Thinking the gate was broken, he asked his family to wait in the car and went around to the small gate to enter.
Thunderstorm + Old Circuit Breaker = Power Outage Nightmare
When he stepped inside, the house was completely dark. Even the hallway lights didn’t work. He quickly realized it wasn’t the gate it was a total power outage. He went to the breaker box and flipped the main switch back on. The lights came back, and the automatic gate worked again. He thought the problem was solved.
But the worst was yet to come. When Alan tried to put the food he brought back from Bangkok into the fridge, he was hit by a terrible smell. During the days they were away, the fridge had stopped working. Meat, seafood, leftovers, sauces, and even ice cream had thawed and gone bad. Liquids leaked everywhere, and the fridge was sticky and smelly.
Alan and his wife didn’t know where to start. His wife put on gloves and a mask and began cleaning. She threw away all spoiled food, removed the drawers, and wiped every shelf with cleaning spray. The smell was so strong it made them feel sick. Alan helped too, carrying garbage bags out one by one. Even the kids covered their noses. The whole family was exhausted after about two hours of cleaning.
The worst part? This wasn’t the first time. Every time it rained or thundered, the house would trip the power fridge stopped, automatic gate didn’t work, Wi-Fi went out. It disrupted daily life and caused a lot of stress.

Mr. Electrician Restores Safe Electricity for Alan’s Home
The next day, Alan called Mr. Electrician for a full inspection. We checked the breaker, main wiring, grounding system, and overall electrical setup. We found that the breakers were old and easily tripped during storms. The wiring was messy, and the grounding system was weak. There was also no surge protector. During heavy thunderstorms, even small changes in electricity could cause a power outage.
We replaced the old breakers, cleaned up the breaker box, and reinforced the grounding system. We also installed a surge protector to protect the appliances and stabilize electricity. After finishing, we tested the automatic gate, fridge, lights, outlets, and other appliances. Everything worked perfectly. A few days later, another heavy thunderstorm hit Puchong. This time, nothing went wrong. No blackout, no spoiled fridge, no more power problems. Alan was relieved and happy he could now leave home for trips without worrying about the electricity failing.
